Fraud
Fraud involves a person lying in order to take something from someone else for their own financial or personal gain – for instance by pretending to be someone else.
If someone has been a victim of fraud or internet crime:
If the suspect is still on premises call 999
If the suspect is not on the premises contact Action Fraud or 0300 123 2040
Theft
When someone takes something that belongs to someone else without their permission, it is called theft.
Inside a hotel, theft can happen from a person’s room or when they are in the bar, restaurant or café area.
Additionally, people can experience theft when they are visiting the City of London.
We know people deliberately target people who are staying in hotels.
